Governor Deval Patrick at the Museum of African American History - Boston / African Meeting House

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick

The Museum of African American History and the newly restored African Meeting House in Beacon Hill hosted Race and Politics: I Have a Dream...Fifty Years Later in honor of Black History Month on February 11th.

Rev. Stephanie Neal-Johnson gave a word and lead us in singing the Black American National Anthem, Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing.

Beverly Morgan-Welch, the Executive Director of the MAAH, shared with us the stories of those who came before and the hard work that goes into changing the structure of a society and its people.

Rev. Emmitt G. Price III, Ph.D. shared the importance of knowing one's narrative and carrying the story.

Rahsaan D. Hall, the Deputy Director of the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice, shared his ideas on the importance of continuing the work. He was followed by Governor Patrick.
